Hydrosols are the waters that are recovered after the steam distillation of essential oils. A hydrosol contains not only the water that was used in distillation but also small amounts of essential oil that could not be separated out in the final stage of the extraction process, as well as non-volatile plant compounds that were extracted by the steam. Hydrosols are also called Flower Waters. They make a beautiful and fully natural face and body mist, facial toner, linen spray, after-shave spray, diffuser water, base for tea, and so much more.
LAVENDER
(Lavandula angustifolia)
Lavender hydrosol (flower water) has a fresh, brisk aroma, somewhat more herbaceous and less floral than its essential oil counterpart. This water – created naturally during the lavender distillation process – is hydrating, healing and refreshing on the skin. Use as a face, body or room spray, as the water element in creams and lotions, to make a healing tea, or as the water in your diffuser.
Please Note: Hydrosols have a shorter shelf life than essential oils and therefore we make it a practice to source in small batches and replenish our stock often. To extend the shelf life of your Roman Chamomile Hydrosol, we recommend refrigerating or storing in a cool dark area. Plus, spritzing a Hydrosol that has been chilled can feel extra refreshing!
Beware: There are companies out there that make fake hydrosols. They just add a few drops of essential oils or even fragrance oil to water. This is not a hydrosol. Ours are 100% pure, created during the essential oil distillation process.
Available in 2 oz bottle with spray top.
